Sudbury Young Citizen Awards 2013

Nominations for the 2013 Sudbury Young Citizen Award are now open.

Now in its 5th year, the Sudbury Rotary club is delighted to announce that the it is now accepting nominations for the Young Citizen Awards. This year’s awards are sponsored by Waitrose, the Suffolk Free Press and Mackman.

The Young Citizen Award is the ideal opportunity to celebrate the community’s young people who have gone the extra mile, whose personal courage, achievement, or contribution to the community should be recognised or celebrated.

Valerie Goodchild, the main organiser of the Young Citizen Awards, said ‘We want to find those people who typify the qualities of good citizenship. Volunteering, helping others and overcoming adversity has topped the news this summer, with so many people taking part in the Olympic and Paralympic Games. ‘

Nominees must:

  • Be 25 years of age or under from 31st August 2012
  • Live/study/work within a 10 mile radius of Sudbury

Nominations can be made by family members, friends, voluntary bodies, teachers, local councils, employers and other professional and must be received by 31st January 2013.

The winner will be presented with a £100 cash prize and the Young Citizen Challenge Trophy, presented by Waitrose, and will be nominated to the national Young Citizen Awards.
