Jonathan Lambert Fine Jewellers is an award-winning jewellery designer and retailer located in Sudbury, Suffolk. With a family history in jewellery dating back to 1800, the team has access to generations of experience as well as passion and creative flair.

Jonathan Lambert is not a traditional jewellery business. It offers its own truly special bespoke custom made jewellery as well as other premium brands such as Links of London, Hot Diamonds, Diamonfire and Kit Heath, and watches from Tissot, Citizen and Eterna.

Opportunity

Jonathan Lambert previously had a website created nine years ago, which looked dated, was too “wordy”, visually un-engaging, and was difficult to content manage. The Mackman team worked with Jonathan Lambert and identified the need to extend their business online.

A new e-commerce website would evolve the business’ brand identity as a current, forward thinking and creative jewellers. It would widen its audience beyond the UK, allowing customers to view and buy its variety of jewellery products online. It would also better communicate their specialist bespoke jewellery design service, a unique aspect of their business.

Solution

Mackman designed and built Jonathan Lambert’s first e-commerce website which stays true to the brand’s prestigious look and reflects the stature and creativity of the business.

There was a lot of emphasis placed on developing the existing brand through continuous elegant design and lifestyle photography that was directed and taken by the Mackman design team.

The site was also built “mobile-first”, which involved designing for mobile and tablet users, and then scaling this design up for desktop users. This gives users a true responsive experience when browsing on mobile and tablet devices, which is incredibly important in today’s digital marketplace. The site was designed to create an easy and intuitive experience for online customers.

Mackman’s web developers integrated Jonathan Lambert’s chosen payment gateway which offers security to its customers who are making high value purchases online. The e-commerce site allows users to review and purchase from Jonathan Lamberts online collections of jewellery and will manage the end to end sales process from purchase to delivery and fulfilment.

In the first month of being launched, the Jonathan Lambert website achieved:
