Gainsborough Trail launches

The first section of the Gainsborough Trail launched on Saturday 16th March and is proving to be a great success. Meadow Walk is 3.5 mile circular route and features Sudbury’s ancient Water Meadows. The water meadows have never been ploughed and thus are a rich source of biodiversity for a wide variety of wild flowers, insects, birds and mammals. The walk provides a great introduction to the history of Sudbury and the Stour Valley.

This project has been part of an inspired vision for the last 20 years and links Sudbury, Cornard and Chilton by a walkable route. The path takes in both the existing and the new natural environment, landscape and wildlife habitats of the Sudbury area.

Paralympian Jonathan Adams, together with the Sudbury Mayor Jack Owen, opened the event, with food and drinks supplied by Waitrose, Sudbury.

Mackman was proud to support this recent launch, having designed the logos, branding, leaflet, route markers and will also be developing the website. Client Lead, Hannah Marshallsay, said: “We are extremely excited and proud to be involved in such a visionary project that will be a real benefit for the town and its visitors.” Peter Clifford, project leader said, “Mackman have been a huge support in providing our eye catching branding and creating the leaflet for the first section of the trail. We look forward to working with them on the remaining sections and developing our exciting website.”
