We’re celebrating the hard work of two members of the Mackman team this week. Angela Balaam, Studio Manager and Senior Designer, and Natash Clarke, Communications Lead, have both just passed their Level 3 Leadership and Management qualification from the Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM), with flying colours.
Angela said, “I’m really proud of myself for getting this qualification. We’re a busy design studio, and it’s been a useful exercise to build on my management skills in order to continually improve how we all work.”
“Getting back into the classroom and developing our management skills has been a great experience,” Emma said. “We’ve been able to apply the theory we’ve been learning to live projects and that’s made the qualification all the more useful.”
The ILM is the UK’s leading body for management and leadership qualifications and sets the standard for industry-recognised accredited qualifications. Assessed through work-based projects and in-depth written assignments, both Angela and Emma received strong results in each of the modules they studied.
The West Suffolk College based course covered management skills across a range of areas including, team building, motivation, resolving conflict, managing change and effective planning.
Paul Mackman, Managing Director, said, “We’re all really proud of Angela and Emma for achieving this important qualification. They’ve brought what they’ve learnt back into the business, which has made a positive impact on us all, which is why we’re committed to funding the development of our staff.”
