Britton Financial is a Colchester-based company, providing independent financial advice across a range of areas. Mackman designed the company’s new website, bringing a fresh and clean look that would provide users with information about the services offered, but would also reflect the professional personality of the business.

Recently we caught up with the man behind the company, Ken Kerr, to find out more about his background.

When did you launch Britton Financial, and why?

‘I started Britton Financial back in 2009, because I truly believe in creating and providing a financial planning service that’s tailored around the needs of real people. Good financial planning is about building trust. By getting to know the people I’m working with, I can ensure that they’re well informed about their finances, the various options they have, and the solutions available to them.’

What sort of clients do you work with?

‘Clients come from all walks of life. Whether they’re a business owner, employee, or are enjoying their retirement, they appreciate the one-to-one, professional service they receive. I take the time to get to know them, understand their needs and provide them with a realistic plan that suits their lifestyle.’

What have you found to be the most rewarding thing since launching Britton Financial?

‘The fact that the company is directly authorised by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) is something I’m very proud of. Being regulated by a central body adds to clients’ peace of mind, as they know that the services offered follow best practice. The FSA has also proved to be a positive influence in providing innovative guidance when it comes to customer service, which is always important to me.’

Do you have any non-finance related interests?

‘I certainly do. I’m married and have two wonderful children. When I have a bit of spare time, I enjoy nothing more than sailing along the east coast.’
