Colchester valuers and auctioneers, Reeman Dansie, are this week celebrating 1 million hits since their Mackman Group created site went live earlier this year. Traffic on the site continues to grow month by month, with an incredible 100,000 hits just this week.

Launched in February, Reeman Dansie’s website substantially outperforms other websites in its sector according to data compiled by Google.

‘The new website has definitely increased our customer base throughout the world,’ explains Reeman’s James Grinter. The website saw the numbers of registered on-line bidders more than double in the sale immediately following the website relaunch. Looking forward, Mr Grinter commented, ‘The increased business has continued to grow in our antiques and collectors’ sales so far this year and I am confident that it will continue to grow despite the economic downturn.’

Reeman Dansie’s site is at www.reemandansie.com. Catalogues are available online,  all lots for antiques sales are illustrated and the site welcomes new online bidders.

The website was created by the Mackman Group, a design and marketing company with roots in Colchester. Company director, Paul Mackman, explains the key to the site’s success: ‘Reemans already had an enviably strong reputation amongst established antiques businesses and traders, particularly within this region, so we really concentrated on search engine optimisation to bring in new customers and online bidders, whilst also making the website attractive and easy to use for existing customers and for Reeman’s administrative purposes.’
